Dave Thomas, Director of Purchasing for Beaufort County, South Carolina has been named Vendor Registry’s September 2017 Purchaser of the Month!

What drew you to a career in purchasing?
A friend of mine introduced me to the profession after I finished my Army career.
What is your favorite thing about working at Beaufort County?
Working with the County Employees and helping the Departments be successful with their projects.
What’s the most rewarding experience you’ve had working in the local government space?
Helping the organizations that I have worked for improve their procurement processes and helping them complete major projects with the “Best Value” to them and the taxpayer.
What specific feature do you like the most about Vendor Registry?
The ability to share information with the community and provide a way for vendors to submit their bids electronically.
What has your experience been like with the Vendor Registry team?
The VR team is very quick to respond to our needs and they are very helpful when we need any technical support.
What was your least favorite subject in school?
