Elaine Wilson – Bibb County Schools

Elaine Wilson, Director of Procurement for Bibb County Schools has been named Vendor Registry’s October 2017 Purchaser of the Month!  Thanks to Elaine for participating in our Q&A session and sharing some interesting tidbits on her purchasing career along with some fun facts about herself.

Congratulations, Elaine! We’re happy you and Bibb County Public Schools partner with us to help make purchasing easier!

What do you like most about working with Bibb County Schools?

I enjoy making sure Bibb students and staff have everything they need in order to provide an effective educational path. So, I know that each day I am en route to work it’s not just for a paycheck but it’s also to make a difference in someone’s life.

What are 3 words you’d use to describe your job?

Hectic and Detail Oriented

How long have you partnered with Vendor Registry?

I believe we are going on three years now.

What drew you to Vendor Registry originally? And how has Vendor  Registry changed your work routine?

Vendor Registry was introduced to me at a conference and I am really happy that I took the time to watch their demonstration. I am able to make sure my vendors are providing all the information we need before I look at their file. I really like the fact that I can send my bids out to everyone registered within our “OWN” site. This provides an extra level of communication and support for my day-to-day operation.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

When I can produce a service or product with a lower savings than the administrator was initially going to spend. I enjoy saving as much money as possible, so I make sure my team negotiates as much as possible with all my vendors.

If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be?

Morris Chestnut
